What patients say about Miiskin

Very happy with this service. Quick and easy. With someone with not the greatest insurance and super busy. This was perfect. Got my prescription next day and great advice for my condition.

I had a great experience with Miiskin – I was able to get my prescription very quickly and their app is easy to use. It was very convenient and their team is very responsive. I highly recommend them and will likely use them in the future for other skin issues.

What a technology! I was very impressed by the speed of communication with a doctor using the Miiskin app. Losing my hair has been my biggest concern, but I didn’t have the courage to reveal my bald spot to a doctor in person. Miiskin solved all my issues instantly. I just took a photo in my own room, uploaded it, and wrote about my concerns. That’s it. The best part is that without insurance, the consultation fee was much lower than any health insurance. I submitted my photo at midnight and received a prescription the very next morning. The doctor at Miiskin was very professional and empathetic, which really helped ease my emotional distress. Although I’m just at the beginning stage of my treatment and haven’t seen significant results yet, I feel reassured and supported. I will definitely upload my progress in 3 to 4 months to show my appreciation for the prescription from Miiskin.

My dermatologist was extremely quick, reviewed my consultation request within 2hrs and I had my Rx the next day! The Miiskin team also responds within minutes and are very polite and communicated concisely. I’ll never make a in person appointment again after experiencing this outstanding and affordable telehealth service!

Quick response from the dermatologist — I wanted a fast turnaround for a skin concern that would be more immediate than going through health insurance, making an appointment, traveling to the doctor.

I’d been dealing with psoriasis for a while and couldn’t believe it when the dermatologist I was referred to gave me an appointment six months out. That just wasn’t going to work. I looked online, found a couple of options, and after doing a bit of research, decided to move forward with a digital dermatology appointment through Miiskin – and I’m so glad I did. What stood out immediately was how fast everything moved. I didn’t have to wait days for a response, and I was able to send in photos, get a diagnosis, and pick up a prescription – all in the same day. It was seamless. The communication has been great too – I’m still able to check in and share follow-up pictures as my treatment progresses. I was nervous at first. I’d never done a telehealth visit before and wasn’t sure what to expect. But this experience changed that completely. It was easy to use, efficient, and honestly better than past in-person appointments I’ve had. I didn’t feel rushed – I felt heard. I’d absolutely recommend digital dermatology to anyone. In fact, I’ve already told my grandson about it. For someone like me, who has a hard time getting around, this has been a game-changer. It’s convenient, reliable, and most importantly – it works.

Common questions about West Virginia online dermatology consultations

An overview of the dermatology services accessible online in West Virginia through the Miiskin platform.

Can I receive a diagnosis from a photo?

Dermatologists licensed in West Virginia and affiliated with Miiskin provide expert diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of skin conditions. Through their extensive experience, these specialists deliver high-quality virtual care by reviewing patient-uploaded photos, detailed questionnaires, and individual medical histories.

What advantages can telemedicine offer?

Independent dermatologists affiliated with Miiskin can treat both acute and chronic skin conditions through the telemedicine platform. This approach reduces wait times with remote consultations, offers the convenience of care from home, and helps track skin issues over time through patient-submitted images for expert assessment.

How does the West Virginia climate affect skin health?

West Virginia’s climate — characterized by humid summers, cold winters, and significant seasonal changes — can have several effects on skin health. The humid, warm months often lead to increased sweating and oil production, which can worsen acne, fungal infections, and heat rashes. In contrast, the cold, dry winters commonly cause dryness, flaking, eczema flare-ups, and chapped lips or hands due to low humidity and indoor heating. Seasonal allergens like pollen can also trigger or aggravate contact dermatitis and eczema. Because of these fluctuations, West Virginians benefit from adapting their skincare routines throughout the year — using lightweight, non-comedogenic products in summer and richer, hydrating moisturizers in winter.

Will I continue seeing the same online dermatologist for each visit on Miiskin?

Miiskin aims to maintain continuity, so repeat consultations are always reviewed by the same dermatologist.

Are online dermatologist consultations via Miiskin as reliable as in-person visits?

Miiskin’s online consultations are highly reliable for many common skin concerns. Board-certified dermatologists review your photos and medical history to provide accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment plans. However, certain complex or serious conditions may still require an in-person exam or biopsy for confirmation.

What conditions cannot be treated with telemedicine?

Some skin concerns require in-person care, such as suspicious lesions that may need a biopsy, conditions requiring procedures, diagnoses that depend on specialized tests, or cases that call for a full physical examination to assess severity. In these situations, your dermatologist will inform you and recommend an in-person visit with a local specialist.

Which cities in West Virginia are served by Miiskin's affiliated dermatologists?

Miiskin’s affiliated dermatologists provide coverage for all cities and counties in West Virginia, including: Charleston, Huntington, Morgantown, Parkersburg, Wheeling, Weirton, Fairmont, Martinsburg, Beckley, Clarksburg, South Charleston, St. Albans, Vienna, Bluefield, Moundsville, and beyond.

Are the dermatologists licensed specifically in West Virginia?

Yes. All dermatologists who provide online consultations via Miiskin for patients in West Virginia hold an active medical license in the state.
