Miiskin Awarded Innovation Fund Grant to Advance Dermatology with Generative AI
Miiskin will leverage AI to streamline workflows for dermatology providers – autonomously organizing information, enhancing communication, and reducing repetitive administrative burdens.
- Miiskin receives $200K Grant from Danish Innovation Fund to optimize processes between patient/dermatologist with AI
- Miiskin will use the grant to integrate Generative AI for repetitive non-clinical workflow tasks
- AI initiatives will support administrative efficiency, workflow support, and patient engagement

September 9, 2025 — Miiskin, a leading digital dermatology platform, today announced it has received a $200K grant from the Danish Innovation Fund to advance AI integration and improve dermatology providers’ workflows. The funding will support the use of generative AI within Miiskin’s platform to streamline non-clinical workflow tasks, automate repetitive routine communication, organize patient-submitted information, and reduce administrative tasks. As a result, clinicians can focus their time where it matters most: patient care, diagnosis and treatment.
Dermatologists are increasingly burdened with administrative tasks like documenting, organizing and entering patient information. Similar to how AI scribes are streamlining hospital workflows for doctors and nurses, generative AI is now transforming telehealth.
Miiskin’s AI capabilities will automate routine work, improving the care process for both patients and providers. By embedding this functionality directly into the platform, Miiskin will deliver a more connected experience for patients and a more efficient process for providers – making it easier to deliver timely, effective and personalized care.
This advancement comes at a critical moment as demand for dermatologists continues to rise and in-person wait times often stretch beyond 30 days. With Miiskin’s digital dermatology platform, providers can reduce the wait for initial assessment to just 24–48 hours. Patients gain quicker access to expert care, while providers expand their reach, streamline their workflow, and reduce burnout, all while delivering more efficient care.
”We’re honored to receive this national grant in support of our innovation. As a telehealth platform dedicated exclusively to dermatology, we understand the nuances of both patient and provider experiences and are constantly working to improve them. As healthcare embraces virtual care, our goal is to build a future where every dermatology consultation begins digitally. By enabling patients to submit high-quality images and complete structured intake forms before their consultation, Miiskin streamlines care, reduces administrative burden, and empowers providers with better tools to deliver optimal care” said Jon Friis, Founder and CEO of Miiskin. “
Miiskin recently launched its nationwide digital dermatology platform that connects patients across the U.S. with independent, board-certified dermatologists. To date, Miiskin has facilitated nearly 10,000 online consultations and attracts over 300,000 monthly visits from patients and dermatologists interested in digital dermatology. The platform leverages technology to make dermatology care more accessible and affordable for patients, while helping providers streamline their workflow and grow their practices.
The Innovation Fund invests in entrepreneurs, researchers, and businesses with high potential that create value for Denmark while developing solutions to some of the biggest challenges. Every project it supports is held to standards of societal engagement, transparency, education, and ethics – ensuring responsibility remains a top priority.
