What is Miiskin and what services does it offer?

Miiskin is a teledermatology platform that connects users with independent, board-certified dermatologists who provide care through their private practices. To start a consultation you need to select your state, choose a dermatologist, answer some questions and upload photos of your skin problem. In 1-2 days you will get a diagnosis and treatment plan, all without physically visiting a clinic.

How is Miiskin different from in-person dermatology visits?

Miiskin allows you to access a dermatologist from anywhere, without waiting weeks for an appointment. The diagnosis and prescriptions are provided online, and you can message your dermatologist directly for follow-up questions.

What sets Miiskin apart from other online dermatology platforms?

  • Real dermatologists, not general telehealth providers: Every consultation is handled by an independent, board-certified dermatologist, not nurses or primary care physicians.
  • You choose your own dermatologist: You can select the doctor you want to work with based on their specialty and qualifications. You will continue care with the same dermatologist for consistent follow-up.
  • No subscriptions or hidden fees: Pay only when you need care or medication. Miiskin doesn’t lock you into monthly memberships or automatic medication renewals.

Are all Miiskin-affiliated providers board-certified dermatologists?

Yes. Every dermatologist on the Miiskin network is board-certified.

Where can I find reviews about Miiskin?

Miiskin doesn’t have the same volume of patient reviews as other telehealth companies because Miiskin itself is not a healthcare provider. Unlike platforms that employ dermatologists and deliver care directly under their brand, Miiskin is a technology platform that connects patients with independent, board-certified dermatologists who provide care through their own private practices.
This model is similar to Zocdoc, Miiskin facilitates access and communication but does not control or employ the dermatologists. As a result, reviews are typically associated with each individual dermatologist’s practice, not the Miiskin platform as a whole.
The dermatologists available through Miiskin’s network, such as Dr. Amit Om, Dr. Anna Chacon, Dr. Anne Allen, Dr. Sarita Nori, and Dr. Ryan Trowbridge, are all highly rated, board-certified dermatologists with established reputations for providing quality online dermatologic care.
In short, Miiskin serves as a bridge between patients and trusted dermatologists rather than being a direct telehealth provider, which naturally leads to fewer centralized reviews under the platform’s name.

Availability and Access

Is Miiskin available nationwide?

Yes, dermatologists in the Miiskin network cover all 50 states, allowing you to request care wherever you are in the United States.

Who can use Miiskin for online consultations?

Anyone in the United States who is over 18 years old can use Miiskin for online dermatology consultations.

Do I need a referral to use Miiskin?

No referral is needed. Miiskin uses a cash-pay model, so users can directly start a consultation with their preferred dermatologist.

Can I use Miiskin if I am traveling or temporarily in another state?

Yes, as long as the dermatologist you select is licensed in the state where you are physically located at the time of your consultation.

Do you need to download the Miiskin app to have a consultation?

No. You can start a consultation directly from the website without downloading the app. However, the Miiskin app is available for iOS and Android if you prefer to use it.

Does Miiskin offer international consultations?

Currently, Miiskin services are only available to users located within the United States and Mexico.

Can Miiskin dermatologists treat children?

Yes. Several dermatologists in the Miiskin network, including Dr. Anne Allen, Dr. Anna Chacon, Dr. Ryan Trowbridge and Dr. Craig Burkhart, provide care for children and teenagers. These are knowledgeable in common pediatric skin conditions and can offer treatment through the same online consultation process.

What skin conditions in children can be treated through Miiskin?

Dermatologists can help with conditions such as eczema, acne, rashes, warts, molluscum contagiosum, impetigo, and other common pediatric skin concerns.

Do parents need to do the consultation on behalf of the child?

Yes. A parent or legal guardian must complete the consultation form and provide consent for any patient under 18 years old. In some cases, the dermatologist may request additional information or photos before providing a diagnosis or treatment plan.

Are medications prescribed to children available at local pharmacies?

Yes. If treatment is needed, the dermatologist can send prescriptions to your preferred pharmacy. You can choose any local or online pharmacy for convenience.

Does my child need to do a video consultation?

Most pediatric consultations are done via photos and a questionnaire, but some dermatologists may offer video follow-ups if needed.

Pricing and Payments

What is the price of an online consultation via Miiskin?

New-patient consultations are typically $55 – $69 (depending on the dermatologist) and prescription renewals are $30- $39.

Are Miiskin consultations covered by insurance?

No, but the flat consultation fees are often cheaper than typical copays for in-person visits.

What payment methods are accepted?

Miiskin accepts most major credit and debit cards and Apple Pay.

Are there any subscription or hidden fees?

No. You only pay for the services you use.

Will I be charged if my consultation is not completed?

If your chosen dermatologist has not reviewed your consultation in 7 days, the money will be released back into your bank account.

Consultation Process

What is the process from starting an online consultation to receiving treatment?

Click “Start Consultation.”
Select your state and dermatologist.
Complete a short questionnaire and upload photos.
Your dermatologist reviews your case within 24 to 48 hours.
Receive your diagnosis and treatment plan via the platform.
Get your prescription filled at any pharmacy you choose.

How long does it take to get results?

Most users receive a treatment plan within 24 hours. If the dermatologist requests more information or photos, it might take up to 48 hours.

Can I upload additional photos after submitting my case?

Yes. If your dermatologist requests additional images, you can upload them directly within the platform.

Can I have a video consultation via Miiskin?

Most consultations are asynchronous (photo and questionnaire based), but some dermatologists may offer video follow-ups.

What happens if my condition requires an in-person examination?

If the dermatologist believes an in-person visit is necessary, they will inform you and may recommend follow-up care locally. Your consultation will still be charged as this advice is considered medical care.

Prescriptions and Treatment

Can I get a prescription via Miiskin?

Yes. Dermatologists can prescribe oral, topical, or compounded medications, if medically appropriate.

Can dermatologists prescribe isotretinoin?

There are only two dermatologists in the Miiskin network that can prescribe isotretinoin (Accutane) Dr. Anna Chacon and Dr. Ryan Trowbridge.

Can I choose where to fill my prescription?

Yes. You can use your local or online pharmacy.

Can my dermatologist adjust my treatment plan later?

Yes. You can request a follow-up or renewal consultation for treatment adjustments.

What skin conditions can be treated via Miiskin?

A wide range, including acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, hair loss, fungal infections, cold sores, genital warts, skin rashes and many other dermatological conditions.

What can I do if I need to ask a question after receiving my plan?

You can message your dermatologist for two to three days after receiving your plan. After that, new questions cost $25 per message.

Privacy and Security

How does Miiskin protect my photos and medical data?

Miiskin complies with HIPAA and GDPR regulations. Images are encrypted and securely stored separately from your normal camera roll.

Can I delete my photos or medical history from Miiskin?

Yes. You can request account and data deletion by emailing [email protected] 

Does Miiskin share my information with third parties?

No, Miiskin does not sell or share personal health information for advertising or unrelated purposes.

Is communication with my dermatologist secure?

 Yes. All messages and photos are transmitted through encrypted channels.

How do I cancel Miiskin Premium?

How can I update my email or personal details?

You can update your profile information within the app or web interface after you have logged in.

What should I do if I cannot log in or access my account?
