Clinical Associate Professor Patrick Mahar OAM

A/Prof Patrick Mahar OAM – MBBS (Hons), LLB (Hons), GDLP, MBA PhD, DMedSc, GAICD, FACLM, FACD

Associate Professor Patrick Mahar is a dermatologist who holds degrees in medicine, business, and law. He is a fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists and the Australasian College of Legal Medicine. 

He holds a Bachelor of Laws from Monash University and a Master in Business Administration from the Melbourne Business School. He is a non-practicing lawyer admitted to the Supreme Court of Victoria.

A/Prof Mahar sees patients at the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne, and the Skin Health Institute in Victoria where he is the Medical Director.

A/Prof Mahar is an active researcher and has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles around clinical and medicolegal topics. In addition to his primary medical qualifications, he holds two higher degrees Doctorates in research.

A/Prof Mahar is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. In 2014 he was awarded a medal of the Order of Australia in part due to his contributions to patient safety.
