Dr. Iben Marie Miller MD, PhD, Specialty in Dermatology and Venereology

Dr. Iben Miller is a board-certified dermatologist who obtained her medical degree from the University of Aarhus in Denmark and her Ph.D. degree from the University of Copenhagen.

She is conducting medical research (Ph.D. and post.doc) in inflammatory skin diseases and associated comorbidities, with a special focus on hidradenitis suppurativa and psoriasis.

Dr. Miller has participated in 43 peer-reviewed articles, and she has been the first author of 22 of them. She has been an active reviewer for peer-reviewed scientific journals for more than 12 years.

She completed her Medical Residency at the University Hospital of Copenhagen, Department of Dermatology, Gentofte Hospital, Denmark

Dr. Miller is very passionate about the use of digital technologies in dermatology, patient education, and patient empowerment. 

Dr. Miller currently works with different aspects of patient education. Amongst these are digital patient education at a private dermatology clinic in Zealand, Denmark, as well as being the initiator of a Danish podcast titled “The Skin Doctor’s Table” (Hudlægens Bord), which is under development.

She also worked as a medical consultant for Danish National Television (DR TV) on a patient-educational TV series regarding the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases.

In 2015, she was named a “Rising Star” in research at the Hidradenitis Symposium at the World Congress of Dermatology.
